Free Bird

Free Bird - image 1

Year: 2019

Medium: Paper

Sometimes the events of my life influence my work in more ways than I know. There was a tense few months when I felt trapped and stuck. It was stressful and all consuming. I just wanted to get lost in my art, but I found that it was robbing me of that joy. I wanted to be free of the things that were weighing me down and longed to escape.

I just wanted to get lost in my art, but I found that it was robbing me of that joy. I wanted to be free of the things that were weighing me down and longed to escape.

Over time the idea developed into a bird taking flight and escaping from the confining world that it once called its home. In the end, God brought me through it all and set me free. Sometimes beauty speaks through our pain and creation comes from the ashes of our struggles.
